| Posted: 07 Sep 2012 05:03 AM PDT KING OF POP JAMAL ABDILLAH LEGENDARY SINGER DATO' KHADIJAH IBRAHIM IN KONSERT GEMILANG SINGAPORE Dubbed as the highlight of 2012 mega concerts, Konsert Gemilang features 3 entertainment giants namely Jamal Abdillah, Dato' Khadijah Ibrahim and Seniman Negara Datuk (Dr) Ahmad Nawab.
With almost a century's worth of experience between them, the concert will take the audience on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through time with the artistes who have known and worked with each other for more than 30 years. To a large extent, both Dato' Khadijah and Jamal launched their careers under the guidance of Datuk Ahmad Nawab whose prolific role as a composer with a knack for melodic tunes (some 2,000+ songs throughout his career from the 50's) and a brilliant track record for drawing out the best in artistes earned him the honourable Seniman Negara title. Konsert Gemilang Singapore will take place on Saturday, October 6th 2012 at Max Pavilion, Singapore Highlights of the concert include a nostalgic and fun trip down memory lane with interesting anecdotes and experience-sharing by Datuk Ahmad Nawab, with Jamal and Dato' Khaty belting out the best hits that made the three of them living legends of the Malay entertainment industry. Brief profile of Artistes Datuk Dr. Ahmad Khan Nawab Khan is today the foremost Malaysian composer. He has written over 2000 songs and has worked with a myriad of artists including Tan Sri P.Ramlee, Saloma, Khadijah Ibrahim, Jamal Abdillah, Sudirman Hj Arshad, Salamiah Hassan, Andre Goh and M.Sani. He started in the 50s and was with the Orkestra RTM for 17 years. He received numerous awards such as the Merak Kayangan Award, the Bintang Malam Award and the highest appreciation given by the Malaysian music industry – the Seniman Negara Award. The award was granted by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail during the Anugerah Seni Negara event in 2006. Dato' Khadijah's professional career has spanned some 32 years since emerging as a young star on the music scene in 1978. She quickly carved out an enviable reputation both as a live performer and a recording artiste. Khadijah was the first female Malaysian artist to sign for an international company, WEA (now part of Warner Music Group), and went on to record eighteen acclaimed albums, singing with equal facility in both Malay and English. Internationally, she is probably best known for her spectacular rendition of "Malaysia, Truly Asia" which has become synonymous with the country's international tourist profile. Jamal Abdillah's meteoric rise to fame started in 1979, when he won the Bintang RTM competition. Widely acknowledged as the Malay King of Pop, his melodic vocal prowess and incredible range has endeared him to a legion of fans across Malaysia and Singapore. In his 32-year career, he also found fame in acting and composing. Despite several of life's challenges, Jamal has stayed the course as a top-in-demand artiste. Winner of numerous accolades and awards over the years in the entertainment industry, his musical collaborations with Datuk Ahmad Nawab has been nothing short of legendary. | Datuk Sharifah Aini & Bob Yusof di Malam Amal Melodi Kasih Posted: 07 Sep 2012 03:49 AM PDT MALAM AMAL MELODI KASIH PERTEMU ORKESTRA RTM BERSAMA DUA BIDUANITA ASIA Memegang Gelaran 'Orkestra Paling Lama di Malaysia' oleh Malaysia Book Of Records merupakan tanggungjawab terbesar buat sebuah organisasi muzik di bawah Jabatan Penyiaran Malaysia, Orkestra RTM bukan sahaja membawa muzik mereka untuk tujuan hiburan semata-mata malah muzik turut membawa mereka untuk beramal kepada masyarakat. Kali ini Orkestra RTM bekerjasama dengan Persatuan Pandu Puteri Cawangan Negeri Perlis sekaligus diundang khas bagi mengiringi persembahan dua biduanita terkenal dari dua buah negara iaitu Biduanita Datuk Sharifah Aini dan lagenda popular Indonesia, Ernie Djohan dalam sebuah majlis makan malam amal. Majlis Makan Malam Amal 'Malam Melodi Kasih' anjuran Persatuan Pandu Puteri ini bakal berlangsung pada 15 September 2012 jam 8.00 malam bertempat di Dewan 2020, Persiaran Wawasan, Kangar Perlis. Majlis amal ini bertujuan mengumpul dana bagi membiayai aktiviti persatuan Pandu Puteri dalam menjalankan aktiviti riadah, keilmuan dan kemasyarakatan selain memberi peluang kepada ahli-ahli Pandu Puteri untuk menyertai kursus dan persidangan di dalam negara mahupun di peringkat antarabangsa seterusnya menyumbang ilmu kepada para belia di Malaysia. Persembahan selama 2 jam yang akan diacarakan oleh pengacara dan pelawak popular Dee, bakal diiringi oleh hampir 30 pemuzik Orkestra RTM di bawah pimpinan Dato' Mokhzani Ismail. Datuk Sharifah Aini akan menyampaikan lagu-lagu popular antaranya Burung Pungguk, Bunga Tanjung, Sayang Musalmah dan beberapa lagi lagu popularnya yang lain. Manakala Ernie Djohan yang terkenal di era 70-an itu bakal akan mempersembahkan lagunya, Teluk Bayur, Kau Selalu di Hatiku dan banyak lagi. Selain itu, hadirin juga turut dihiburkan oleh penyanyi lelaki bersuara lunak, Bob Yusof sebagai penyanyi jemputan.
