| Cartoon Network Launches First Ever SNAPTOONS Kids Posted: 04 Aug 2011 03:18 PM PDT Cartoon Network Launches First-Ever SNAPTOONS Kids Cartoon Network is inviting kids to animate their lives with the launch of SNAPTOONS Kids (Short New Asia Pacific Cartoons), an exciting initiative that allows budding animators to unleash their creativity. Kicking off with an on-air contest on Astro, 50 winners will have the chance to attend an exclusive workshop led by artists from Animasia, Malaysia's leading animation studio and the creators of Bola Kampung, the hit series now on Cartoon Network. Created in partnership with Astro, the contest will take place from August 1 to August 15, 2011 and kids should look out for the SNAPTOONS Kids spot on Astro's channels for full details on how to enter the contest via Astro's website. "SNAPTOONS Kids continues Cartoon Network's commitment to developing the animation industry in Malaysia and we're looking forward to seeing the young creative talent emerging via this workshop. Last year we launched SNAPTOONS for professional animators to great success and wanted to extend it to our younger audience," said Silas Hickey, Creative Director, Asia Pacific Animation Development, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc. Winners will join other budding animators at an exclusive workshop created in partnership with MDEC (Multimedia Development Corporation) and the Ministry of Education. During the session(s) the creators and artists of the Malaysian super-hit Bola Kampung will give the participants an in-depth introduction to storyboarding and character creation. Two sessions will be held – one in Penang and one in Kuala Lumpur. For a chance to take part in the workshop slated for October, Cartoon Network fans are invited to submit their entry by filling in speech bubbles in a still image from the animated series Bola Kampung. The image can be found on Astro's website (www.Astro.com.my/astrolife), along with the submission guidelines. Bola Kampung airs on Cartoon Network (Astro Channel 616) during weekends at 8:00am. | Ally Iskandar Sah Putus Tunang Posted: 04 Aug 2011 08:54 AM PDT Pihak Ketiga Bukan Punca Ally Iskandar Putus Tunang Di sidang media Mentor Raya 2011 malam tadi, personaliti dan pengacara TV3, Ally Iskandar telah mengesahkan ikatan pertunangannya dengan Naib Juara rancangan Gadis Melayu musim pertama, Nur Aishah Zainal telah putus pada 30 Julai lalu. Tanpa berselindung Ally berkata, perpisahan itu berlaku disebabkan tiada keserasian di antara mereka walaupun hakikatnya mereka telah memutuskan untuk mendirikan rumah tangga yang dijadualkan hujung tahun ini.  Ally Iskandar "Kamu telah berusaha untuk menyelamatkan pertunangan kami tetapi tidak mencapai kata yang positif sehingga membuatkan kami mengambil keputusan untuk memutuskan ikatan," katanya kepada pemberita pada rakamkan program Mentor Raya di sini, Khamis. Ujar Ally, perpisahan itu tiada kaitan dengan pihak ketiga ataupun konflik besar membabitkan mereka sebaliknya beberapa masalah lain yang datang secara berperingkat sehingga gagal untuk diselesaikan. Katanya, mereka berdua pernah mengimpikan untuk menjadi pasangan bahagia dalam rumah tangga tetapi sayang sekali ia tidak dapat dilaksanakan seperti dirancang. Malah ujar Ally lagi keluarganya turut bersedih dengan peristiwa itu lebih-lebih lagi mereka amat gembira semasa majlis pertunangan yang diadakan sebelum ini. "Saya tak nafikan masalah ini meninggalkan kesan besar buat saya dan ia amat menyedihkan. Daripada dibiarkan melarat, lebih baik keputusan (memutuskan pertunangan) dibuat secara baik," katanya. Bagaimanapun ujar Ally, dia dan Nur Aishah masih berkawan baik dan tiada permusuhan di antara mereka.
